We’re working together to create an environment where people with migration experience can find their way more easily, develop their potential, and take an active part in society.
The iKOMPAS project combines direct support for foreigners, community work, the development of civic and professional skills, and training for professionals. Its aim is to facilitate the integration of people with migration experience into Czech society, strengthen their independence, and contribute to mutual understanding and social cohesion.
The project is implemented by InBáze, z. s., in cooperation with five partner organisations. Activities take place in Prague and selected regions of the Czech Republic, particularly the Ústí nad Labem, Olomouc, and Zlín regions.

What Does the Project Offer?
Civic Participation Support
We encourage people with migration experience to actively participate in community and public life. The project includes an incubation programme for emerging migrant-led initiatives, educational workshops focused on civic literacy, and individual expert consultations. Participants gain the knowledge, skills, and support needed to develop and implement their own initiatives that benefit the wider community.
Intercultural Support and Counselling
We help foreigners overcome language and cultural barriers when communicating with institutions and dealing with everyday situations. Intercultural workers provide basic counselling, interpretation, and accompaniment to public offices, schools, healthcare facilities, and other institutions. They help clients navigate the Czech system and address issues related to housing, employment, and education.
Psychosocial Support
Migration and adaptation to a new environment can involve significant psychological stress. The project therefore offers professional psychosocial support to people going through challenging periods in their lives. Support includes individual consultations, crisis intervention, and basic therapeutic assistance. When needed, we also help clients access additional specialised services.
Support for Young People
We focus on adolescents and young adults with migration experience who are at risk of social isolation or have limited access to educational and personal development opportunities. Through outreach work, individual support, workshops, and community activities, we help young people develop their skills, build relationships, and find their place in society.
Career Counselling and Professional Skills Development
In cooperation with our partner organisation Dobroženky, we primarily support women with migration experience in navigating the Czech labour market. We offer individual career counselling, educational workshops, and courses focused on developing professional and personal skills, building self-confidence, and strengthening independence in the workplace.
Community Activities and Social Connections
We create opportunities for people from different cultural backgrounds to meet, share experiences, and build new relationships. The project includes community and neighbourhood events, activities for families and the general public, and support groups for women. An important part of our approach is actively involving participants in planning and organising activities together.
Training for Professionals and Knowledge Sharing
High-quality integration services require qualified professionals and effective cooperation between organisations. The project therefore supports accredited training for intercultural workers and other professionals working with foreigners. It also creates opportunities for methodological support, sharing good practices, and exchanging knowledge and experience between Prague and other regions of the Czech Republic.
Who Is the Project For?
The project is primarily intended for third-country nationals legally residing in the Czech Republic, including applicants for and beneficiaries of international protection.
Individual activities focus particularly on people facing additional barriers to integration, such as families with children, women, young people, and individuals experiencing challenging life circumstances.
Selected activities are also open to the wider public and professionals working with people with migration experience.
